Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires providers and deployers of AI systems — that is, every company that uses AI in its operations — to take measures to promote the AI literacy of their staff. Since July 2026 the obligation has been eased: no one has to guarantee a particular level of literacy any more. This affects not only IT departments but everyone who works with AI tools day to day — from ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot through to industry-specific AI applications.
